PARK ATTRACTIONS AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES:

    · MARINA  - 

Prince Gallitzin has a modern marina with complete facilities.  A variety of free boat mooring areas are found around the lake.  The marina provides gasoline, free launching ramps, boat rentals and a boat and motor repair shop.  In addition to the Marina, there are eight public boat launching areas conveniently located throughout the park, along with three public mooring facilities for sailboats, pontoon boats and runabouts.    A 20 HP motorboat limit keeps fishermen, sailors and canoeists equally satisfied.
     · BEACH & PICNIC AREA -
The beach and picnic area is open to the public from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Clean, modern facilities, bath houses, carry-out food and drink concessions handy to beach and picnic areas.  Picnic tables are available throughout the park.  The vast majority of these are located adjacent to the swimming area in Day Use areas 1, 2 and 3.  Five picnic pavilions may be reserved in advance for a fee.  Unreserved picnic pavilions are free on a first come first served basis.
     · TRAILS -
- Hiking - A 9-mile trail network invites you to explore the park on foot.  Of this, 3 miles are self guiding interpretive trails.
- Exercise - A developed exercise trail is located in the eastern side of the park.
     · WINTER ACTIVITIES  -
-  Ice boating, Ice fishing and Ice skating;
-  Sledding and tobogganing with over 4 acres of slopes in the Main Marina area;
-  Cross country skiing - 7 miles of well marked trails;
-  Snowmobiling - Registered snowmobiles may use the 20 mile trail network.  All designated snowmobile trails are closed to snowmobiling between September 25 and the day following the close of anterless deer hunting season, except Sundays.  Daily snowmobiling commences the day after the close of the anterless deer season.

The Horseshoe Curve displays and exhibits the engineering marvel opened by The Pennsylvania Railroad in 1854.

Constructed between 1831 and 1834, the Portage Railroad was the last link of the canal-railroad system that spanned Pennsylvania. Visitor center, railroad remains, reconstructed engine house and restored historic LEMON HOUSE tavern.
